Umingan (pronounced "oo-meeng-gan") is a town in Pangasinan. It is a rising eco-tourism destination ideal for nature lovers and adventurers seeking a quiet countryside escape. There are waterfalls and hot springs nearby.
Understand
[edit | edit source]Located at the foot of the Caraballo Mountains, it is at the southeasternmost part of Pangasinan. It borders the Nueva Ecija towns of Lupao on the east and Cuyapo on the south, and Balungao in Pangasinan on the west.
It is home to about 79,000 people (census, 1 July 2024) 
. Most of the town's population are descendants of the Ilocanos.
Get in
[edit | edit source]Umingan is at a crossroads leading to northeastern Pangasinan, northern Nueva Ecija and western Pangasinan. From the west, Rosales-Umingan Road becomes Umingan-San Quintin Road past the junction with San Jose-Umingan Road at the public market. Buses heading to Cagayan Valley pass by Umingan from Rosales on their way to San Jose in Nueva Ecija.
