Welcome[edit]

Hello 28CH! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Also, please have a look at Wikivoyage:Captain obvious.

Since you know Montreal's East End, could you check and see whether there are up-to-date listings of your favorite restaurants, bars, stores, and things to do there? Thanks a lot, and happy editing!

All the best,

Why did you revert my edit without comment? Did you read the reasoning behind my edit? The lede is not the place to list a bunch of names; it's where a place should be summarized in a catchy way that shows why someone would want to go there. And every suburb and borough is described in "Understand," which also has too much encyclopedic detail in it at this point. What travel guide has descriptions like this?
Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles (population 106,000 in 2011) is a borough of Montreal composed of the districts of Rivière-des-Prairies and Pointe-aux-Trembles and also La Pointe-aux-Prairies. Rivière-des-Prairies joined Montreal in 1963 and Pointe-aux-Trembles in 1982. It has a population of 102,457.
That's Wikipedia language. Please rewrite the section to focus on what's interesting to visitors, not encyclopedic trivia. And do have a look at Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. The two sister sites have many things in common, but there are important differences in style and goals. I'll get you started by reinstating my edit, and if you really want to argue against it, instead of edit warring, leave it as is and make an argument on the Talk:Montreal/East End page, see if you can get a consensus behind you, and revert my edit again only if you do. And by "acknowledge," the above commenters do not mean to blank the page. Talk page discussions should never be deleted. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 23:49, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
