I'm not an expert on redirection, but in general it's better to move an old page, rather than creating a new page and then changing the content of the old page to be a redirect. Moving a page maintains history, while creating new pages tends to hide it. Just a suggestion.

You may also want to leave a not on the talk pages of any pages you move to indicate why they were moved in case others have questions. -- (WT-en) Ryan 04:30, 14 March 2006 (EST)
