Hello, Mario Andres Izquierdo Yañez UNAL! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.
If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage.
Also please read what not to link to and Wikivoyage:Wikivoyage and Wikipedia. If you'd like to re-add that listing, please subtract some of the encyclopedic specifics as well as the link to the site hosted in Turkey. Thanks, and let us know if you have any questions.
Best,

- Hi! I hope you're doing well. First of all, I’d like to say that I’m genuinely surprised that my contribution was removed. I’ve read the guidelines, and from what I understand, it doesn’t seem to violate any policies. The information I added isn’t promoting any business — it references the official website of the park, which is non-commercial and purely informative. I would really appreciate some clarification so I can understand what went wrong and learn how to improve Mario Andres Izquierdo Yañez UNAL (talk) 00:03, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- You're telling me that https://www.aa.com.tr is the official site of the park? Why would a Colombian park host its site in Turkey? Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:08, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- "This must be a misunderstanding — I truly never uploaded or added that link. I’m being completely honest. If it appeared somehow, I’d really appreciate help in figuring out what happened. I’m still learning how to contribute properly and want to make sure everything I do follows the rules. Mario Andres Izquierdo Yañez UNAL (talk) 00:15, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- I can't explain why you added that link, but my guess based on your last reply is that you unintentionally copied and pasted it. So OK, re-add the listing, but please read Wikivoyage:Wikivoyage and Wikipedia and edit it down per my other comments, and also look at Wikivoyage:External links for this site's format on how to add external links, or it would be much better for you to add a Wikivoyage:Listings template instead, and then put the park's own URL in the "url" tab. Let us know if you have any questions. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:20, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- I truly thank you for your understanding. It was an honest mistake on my part, and I assure you it won’t happen again. I deeply apologize. I’m just genuinely passionate about trekking in my country and wanted to share that love with others. This is also my first time contributing to WikiVoyage, and I’m eager to keep learning and improving. Mario Andres Izquierdo Yañez UNAL (talk) 00:25, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- It's no problem. All of us have made mistakes due to a slip of the finger. I look forward to reading the content you add!
- Best,

- You’re very kind, thank you again. Next time, I’ll make sure to ask for help if I have any doubts, and of course, I’ll carefully read all of the guidelines you kindly shared with me. I really appreciate your patience and support as I learn. Mario Andres Izquierdo Yañez UNAL (talk) 00:29, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- I also wanted to ask you something else. I recently added some information about Nevado del Huila on WikiVoyage, and I was wondering if you have any recommendations or feedback on what I wrote. I'm still learning, so any advice to help improve it would be greatly appreciated. Mario Andres Izquierdo Yañez UNAL (talk) 00:31, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sure. My overall impression is that Nevado del Huila National Natural Park is off to a good start. You've provided some good basic information so far.
- I'd like more information about the 3 bullet points in "See". Where are they, and what will someone see when they get there? Is it an easy or difficult hike to get there, or is it a weeks-long hike from the park entrance? But hold on, I see that the park is closed to the public. If so, is there really much point in having an article about it? You say "it seems" that exceptions are made, but how would someone ask for one?
- Two other details come to mind: (1) The one line of history seems like trivia from the point of view of a traveler, so I'd omit it. (2) I see footnote numbers in the "Climate" subsection. That's not how we link on Wikivoyage. See Wikivoyage:External links#External link format, or just look at some other en.Wikivoyage articles that cite the source for their climate numbers. I picked Denver at random for an example. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:32, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
