Map coding
Hello, I'm having a look at Jeju#Regions, and there seems to be code (mapshapes) for each listed region. Is that meant to do something? Further, is there a system for picking the colours, or are they chosen at random? Since Marado is there, I thought it might be useful to add Gapado as well. Thanks, CMD (talk) 07:45, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes. The mapshapes should colour the regions in the dynamic map created by {{mapframe}} (in this case below in the Cities section). However, they depend on the Wikidata item being linked to the appropriate shape at OpenStreetMap, and in this case only some regions are (only Seogwipo-Si?), and to avoid confusion the shape opacities are set to 0, i.e. they are invisible. As the shapes get created and linked (or whatever is needed), one can adjust the opacity to some suitable other value (or remove the parameter, if the default is sensible).
- The colours should be standardised, but I don't remember where they are listed.

- The standardised colour scheme is listed at the (unfortunately named) {{StdColor}}. It might be somewhere in the Wikivoyage namespace as well, but that template is what I usually reference.
― Wauteurz (talk) 14:20, 2 December 2024 (UTC)- Thank you both. Fiddling with OSM is still slightly beyond my knowledge base. I'm not sure how you for example know it is only for Seogwipo-Si. Nonetheless, thanks for answering the questions. CMD (talk) 06:50, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
