Yashio is in Saitama prefecture.

[edit | edit source]Yashio is close to the Saitama-Tokyo border and is part of the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area.
Yashio is primarily a distribution center, with a number of industrial parks. It is also bedroom community with part of its population commuting to the Tokyo metropolis for work. It is home to about 93,000 people (1 March 2021) 
Get in
[edit | edit source]- 1 Yashio Station, 6 Chome Oze. Yashio is served by the Tsukuba Express railway line, which makes the city easily accessible from Akihabara and Asakusa. The rapid trains on the line also stop at Yashio.

[edit | edit source]- 1 Osonehachiman Shrine, 18 Osone. Daily 10:00-16:00. A Shinto shrine founded in 1503 dedicated to the kami Hachiman, the god of war.
Do
[edit | edit source]- 1 Yashio Ekimae Park, Oze, 6 Chome−３−1. A spacious park with a children's playground. A popular spot for picnics, dog walks and a place for young people to hang out.
- 2 Nakagawa Yashio Flower Park, 1009 Kizone, ☏ +81 48-951-0323. This park has over a hundred peach trees which bloom turn a vivid pink during springtime.

[edit | edit source]- 1 Frespo Yashio, Oze, 1 Chome−１−3. A 3-storey suburban shopping mall. Lacks the overwhelming crowds that you would find in the similar kinds of malls in downtown Tokyo.
