Bacnotan is a coastal town in La Union.

Understand
[edit | edit source]Bacnotan is one of the oldest towns in La Union, having been founded in 1599. It is a primarily agrarian and tourist oriented town, and an alternative beach hub for those who think neighboring San Juan has become too crowded.
Get in
[edit | edit source]Bacnotan is along Route 2 (Manila North Road). Buses heading to Vigan and Laoag also ply this highway. However, the route bypasses Bacnotan’s coastal barangays and goes inland to downtown Balaoan. Instead, beachgoing travelers enter through a junction in downtown Bacnotan leading northwest to Balaoan-Luna-Bacnotan Road.
Get around
[edit | edit source]Tricycles are the main form of transportation in town.
