Bongo is the capital of Bongo District in the Upper East Region of Ghana, 15 km northeast of Bolgatanga. It is a small farming town famous for the Bongo Rocks and as the heart of the Bongo-Sirigu pottery and art area in the Ghanaian Northern Plains.
