Understand
[edit | edit source]Get in
[edit | edit source]Carmila is 101 km (63 mi) south of Mackay – simply head south for an hour and turn left onto Music St. Do make sure to use navigation as the signage to the town is rather poor and very easily missable. From Rockhampton, it's the same but in north but for 237 km (147 mi) (and 132 km (82 mi) from Marlborough) and turn right onto Music St instead.
If using online map services, make sure you enter directions for "Carmila Hotel", not "Carmila" – if using Google Maps, "Carmila" may take you to another place around 15 km (9.3 mi) north of the actual town.
Spirit of Queensland awhich operates between Cairns and Brisbane stop by 1 Carmila Station at least four times a week. Greyhound's coastal Queensland service also makes a stop at Carmila. However, there is no other means of getting to the only thing to see/do in Carmila (the beach) from the station.
Get around
