La Campagne Tropicana (officially known as La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort) is a world-class, 60-acre private eco-tourism resort located in the Ikegun community of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. Developed originally in 1984, it is highly celebrated as the only resort in the world woven entirely around three distinct natural environments: a freshwater lagoon, a mangrove forest, and a sandy Atlantic oceanfront. Featuring authentic African-themed architecture with luxury modern amenities, it operates as a premier haven for daycations, romantic honeymoons, and corporate retreats.

Travelers can board public commercial buses heading toward Ajah from central hubs in Lagos Island or CMS Marina. From the Ajah under-bridge motor park, hop into a shared bus or commercial transit heading directly to the Eleko Junction. At the junction, local motorcycle taxis (okadas) or registered private saloon cars can be chartered to complete the final segment down the coast to the resort gates.

Navigation across the 60-acre estate is done primarily on foot. • Water sports on the lagoon: Head over to the protected inland docks to rent a kayak or secure a spot on a motorized boat cruise. The calm mangrove waters are perfect for peaceful paddling or traditional line-fishing.
• Beach and field soccer: Participate in beach volleyball, basketball, or field soccer tournaments organized by the resort hosts on the expansive beach flats. Horseback riding can also be commissioned across the outer dunes.

Shopping inside La Campagne Tropicana is centred entirely around curated African art, beach necessities, and authentic cultural items. There are no retail shopping malls or ATMs on the sand, so carrying sufficient cash or a valid debit card for point-of-sale (POS) terminals is highly recommended.

• Artisan beadwork & Ankara wrappers: The resort features boutique stalls selling high-grade traditional Yoruba beadwork, customized hand-woven Aso-Oke caps, and colourful Ankara beach cover-ups or sarongs.
• Packaged palm wine: You can purchase beautifully presented, locally tapped gourds or bottles of fresh, authentic palm wine harvested directly from the surrounding Ibeju-Lekki palm groves.
• Hand-carved sculptures: Local wood carvers showcase intricate miniatures of African wildlife, stylized masks, and traditional standard walking sticks sculpted from premium mahogany or ebony wood.

• Ikegun Village Junction Market, Coastal Road, Ikegun Community (1 km outside the main resort gatehouses.). Daylight hours. A traditional, rustic roadside market managed by local community residents. This is an excellent, highly affordable spot to purchase raw coconuts, fresh tropical fruits, local snacks, and basic travel toiletries at local non-resort prices. Cash is preferred here. Budget. 

Dining on-site reflects the resort's commitment to African luxury, balancing native Nigerian delicacies with high-end continental meals.

• Corkage: While the resort permits day trippers to bring outside food and drinks, they implement strict corkage access fees (approx. ₦5,000 per packed cooler/basket) which must be settled at the gatehouse.

• Ocean safety protocol: The Atlantic coastline along Ibeju-Lekki has exceptionally powerful undercurrents and severe crashing waves. Do not swim deep in the open sea. Because La Campagne Tropicana sits far down the southeastern tip of the Lekki Peninsula, onward travel allows you to either head deeper into rustic coastal communities or return westward toward urban Lagos.
