Lame Deer is in southeast Montana. It is on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation and serves as the tribal headquarters. About 1,900 people live there.

[edit | edit source]As of 2023, Lame Deer has not been Google-mapped. Once in town however, it is easy to see locations, or ask at the gas station.
Chief Dull Knife College, a small two-year college, is located in town.

The nearest commercial airport is Billings Logan International Airport (BIL IATA).
Get around

You will likely arrive by car, which is the easiest way to get around. Walking or biking once in town is also possible.
See and do
[edit | edit source]- 1 Northern Cheyenne Pow Wow (3 miles south on Cheyenne Ave). Every July 4th. Traditional pow wow plus parade, competitive dancing and other events celebrating the Northern Cheyenne people. Camping available.
