DeutschPililla is a town in Rizal, Philippines. It is known for its wind farm, Mount Sembrano, and the Halayhayin cycling path.
Understand
[edit | edit source]The town used to be known as Pilang Munti, a reference to Pila, a town in Laguna which is believed to have ruled over the area in precolonial times. In 1571, it became part of Morong as Pilang Morong. In 1583, it became an independent town as Pililla. Its name was based on the diminutive rules in Castillan by adding the "-illa" or "-illo" suffix to indicate a smaller or younger version. During the American period, the town of Quisao to the south was merged with Pililla.
It is home to about 73,000 people (census, 1 July 2024) 
Orientation
[edit | edit source]The main hubs are the old poblacion, composed of Barangays Takungan and Wawa, Barangay Halayhayin, which lies at the junction of the Manila East Road coming from Laguna and the Pililla-Jalajala Road, and Quisao.
Get in
[edit | edit source]From Metro Manila, Pililla is accessible by buses and jeepneys via Manila East Road.
Jeepneys from terminals in the town proper and Malaya are bound for Tanay. Minibuses from the town proper are bound for SM Masinag in Antipolo. SINCRODA also operates jeepneys from Siniloan, Laguna via Mabitac. Quisao and other barangays south of Halayhayin are served by jeepneys going to Jalajala.

- 5 Lyger Animal Sanctuary, Matagbak Road, Brgy. Bagumbayan. 8:30AM-5PM. Home to some exotic animals, such as the liger.
Do
[edit | edit source]- 1 Mount Sembrano, Barangay Malaya. An extinct 745 metres (2,444 ft) volcano at the head of the Jalajala peninsula that is frequented by hikers due to its proximity to Metro Manila and its commanding views of Laguna de Bay into Talim Island and as far as Mount Makiling, on the southwestern shores of the lake.
