Sechin

Sechin is 5km SE of Casma, a city on the Panamerican Highway in Peru's Northern Coast.

Get in

There are frequent buses along the Panamerican Highway. Colectivos are usually large old American cars, which when full go from Casma by Las Tortugas Beach Cove & on to Chimbote.

Get around

Colectivos & motor-cycle taxis can be hired to take you to the Sechin site & museum.

Cerro Sechin archaeological site & Museo Max Uhle are 5km SE of Casma. Hundreds of Monoliths depict victorious warriors & their mutilated enemies at a site that dates from 1600BC, & lies below Cerro Sechin, which gives a commanding view over the Casma Valley.
