My previous neighbourhood-level breakdown turns out to be too much, with many having less than 30 "See" listings, which later turns out to be the de facto threshold of dividing into districts. I misunderstood WV:7+2 and divided districts based on it. So, I might be restoring the following district breakdown of Kolkata (from north to south, west to east):

• Northern Kolkata
  • Dakshineswar – as it is
  • Baranagar – as it is
  • Dum Dum – as it is
  • North Kolkata (see: 22) – Bagbazar, Cossipore-Belgachia, Girish Park-Maniktala (Jain Temple part), Sovabazar, Shyambazar-Hatibagan
  • North Central Kolkata (see: 29) – Bowbazar-College Street, Burrabazar-Jorasanko, Girish Park-Maniktala (rest), Sealdah
• Central Kolkata
  • BBD Bagh-Riverfront (see: 23) – as it is
  • Esplanade (see: 27) – Esplanade, Maidan, Park Street, Chowringhee
• Southern Kolkata
  • Southwest Kolkata (see: 18) – Alipore, Behala, Garden Reach
  • South Kolkata (see: 22) – Ballygunge-Gariahat, Bhowanipore-Kalighat, Park Circus
  • Southeast Kolkata (see: 4+8) – as it is
• Eastern Kolkata
  • East Kolkata (see: 12) – EM Bypass, New Town (Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue part), Northeast Kolkata
  • Salt Lake (see: 4) – as it is
  • New Town (see: 4+23) – as it is

Update: I'm turning off all my experiments with districts that I performed from 2022 to 2026, mostly without any explicit consensus. Instead, I will focus on consolidating the listings to the following districts (from north to south, west to east):

• Northern Suburbs (Dakshineswar, Baranagar, Cossipore-Belgachia, Dum Dum)
• North Kolkata (Bagbazar, Bowbazar-College Street, Burrabazar-Jorasanko, Girish Park-Maniktala, Sealdah, Sovabazar, Shyambazar-Hatibagan)
• BBD Bagh
• Maidan
• Esplanade (Esplanade, Park Street, Chowringhee)
• South Kolkata (Alipore, Ballygunge-Gariahat, Bhowanipore-Kalighat, Park Circus)
• Southern Suburbs (Behala, Garden Reach, Southeas Kolkata)
• East Kolkata (EM Bypass, New Town, Northeast Kolkata, Salt Lake)

Update: I have finally restored the pre-2022 districts, with BBD Bagh as an exception, since it's a well-defined colonial-era district separate from others.
