Hello, 20chances! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Nice to see another New York-area person here.

All the best,

Covid advice...

[edit]

Thanks for updating...

I would suggest adding suitable boxes to England and Northern Ireland so all the 'home' nations of the UK have current advice? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 11:50, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ohio covid-19 variant

[edit]

I see you added a warning about new COVID-19 variants to the USA COVID-19 box. Did your source state they are a serious threat? New variants emerge regularly, as mutations are part of how all life behaves, but warnings are needed only if the mutants are significantly more dangerous than the former variants. Is that the case? Your edit did not include any hint on that (it doesn't have to, but without any hint there, in the edit summary or at the talk page, other editors have a difficult time making judgement calls). –LPfi (talk) 12:43, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'll leave an article on this. The researchers are concern that it could be similar to the UK Variants.

OK. Thank you. I see that the edit was reverted by JRHorse (23:57). I don't have a strong opinion on whether we should follow these developments. –LPfi (talk) 10:14, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Romania and Bulgaria

[edit]

Your edit of Travelling around the Schengen Area#Understand makes me a bit confused. Are they still special cases? According to the edit there are no passport checks on land or sea borders, and none for commercial aircraft. So what makes them special? Passport controls for private planes? –LPfi (talk) 17:44, 1 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

They just recently lifted border controls for land travel as of January 1, 2025 which means all intra-Schengen Area travel is no longer subject to Passport Control. I don't know if private sea travel, I have to double check but I can look it up. I apologize if there was a confusion regarding to that part. 20chances (talk) 17:59, 1 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
No need to be sorry. It is just good to check that a paragraph as a whole makes sense after an edit – it is quite common to even forget to check the rest of the affected sentence like here. I assume they no longer need any special treatment; unless you have reason to believe there is some oddities left, their bullet should be removed, but one should check that they are listed among other Schengen countries in the relevant paragraphs, and that also the country articles' Get in are updated. –LPfi (talk) 19:11, 1 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
