Welcome
[edit]Hello, Drocks09! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.
Thanks for your contributions to Barnesville (Ohio)! -- Ryan • (talk) • 03:42, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
Hello, Drocks09! I'd like to join in welcoming you to Wikivoyage, and also to thank you for your enthusiastic edits to the Barnesville (Ohio) article!
That said, please be careful not to copy and paste promotional listings or descriptions put out by store owners or publicists, like many of these, and keep in mind, too, that not all businesses are normally travel-related (antique stores: yes, they are; flooring stores: no). Also, "reasonable prices" really could mean anything, depending on the writer, his/her opinion or basis for comparison, or whether the phrase is being used simply as a promotional term. Specific prices or an approximate price range would be meaningful.
Please have a look at the edits I made, which really feel into two categories: (1) Detouting; (2) simplification.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post them as replies below.
Thanks a lot.

- P.S.: Just to make it explicit, Wikivoyage:Don't tout is the site standard for how to avoid the appearance of self-interestedly touting a product or service, regardless of whether you actually are. Please have a look at that page. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:14, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
@Ikan Kekek: Hopefully I'm replying correctly, fairly new to discussion pages. Thank you for the pointers. I was working on the page while at work, was going to go back and re-edit the stuff out of it (such as the stores that should not belong flooring.) I was using other wording, did plan to go back through. Thank you for the pointers and the articles to look at on here. I was not touting, meant nothing by it. Just noticed lots of stuff on the article needing changed and edited. Will do better next time! Thanks again! Drocks09 (talk) 07:59, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- No sweat, and thanks again for taking the time to improve the article! One thing to keep in mind is that in cases like this, in which your source is promotional and you plan to change the wording, you could initially use your own sandbox (such as User:Drocks09/Sandbox) as a place to hold the unedited source content, then edit it and move it to "articlespace" (as opposed to personal space) later. Sounds pretty good to me :D
