Hi, @DumagueteAAMeetings, and welcome to this online travel guide. It's great that you're having AA meetings in Dumaguete, but I don't think AA meetings are really travel-relevant. If you want to argue about how they are, I don't think this is a Dumaguete-specific question, so I recommend for you to start a thread on the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub. Before starting a discussion at the Travellers' pub, I want to explain why I believed the information was relevant to travelers.

My intention wasn't to promote Alcoholics Anonymous or a website. It was to add practical information that some visitors to Dumaguete may need while travelling.

The resource provides current meeting schedules, venue directions, English-language newcomer information, visitor guidance, and local contact details for meetings in Dumaguete City, Valencia, Bacong, Dauin, and nearby areas of Negros Oriental.

Dumaguete has hosted Philippines AA national conventions with documented participation from across the Philippines and overseas, and Dumaguete is scheduled to host the 42nd Philippines AA Convention in January 2027. International visitors, domestic travelers, regional visitors, and convention attendees may want to attend local AA meetings while travelling through Dumaguete and Negros Oriental.

My question is therefore a general policy question rather than one specific to Dumaguete:

Should Wikivoyage include practical information about local Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and similar peer-support resources when they are relevant to visitors travelling in an area?

My reasoning was that the Dumaguete article already includes many practical resources for specific traveler needs, not only sightseeing: immigration, transport details, smoking rules, dive shops, golf courses, bookstores, pharmacies, restaurants, hotels, and nightlife. These are useful because different travelers need different local services while away from home.

My proposed AA section followed the same logic. It was not meant as advertising or directory minutia. It was practical visitor information for travelers in recovery, domestic travelers, international visitors, regional visitors, and convention attendees who may need to find local AA meetings while in Dumaguete or Negros Oriental.

DumagueteAA.org provides current meeting schedules, venue directions, English-language newcomer and visitor guidance, and local contact information. Dumaguete has also hosted Philippines AA national conventions with participation from across the Philippines and overseas, and is scheduled to host the 42nd Philippines AA Convention in January 2027.

That said, I don't want to maintain a disputed article section that may be removed repeatedly based on different editors' views of travel relevance. I appreciate the clarification and will leave the Wikivoyage article as it is.
