Hello, Jodydz! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.
In addition, please read the Wikivoyage:Copyleft article. It is a violation of site rules to copy and paste Wikipedia article verbatim, in addition to the fact that Wikipedia uses different formatting than this site does (for example, no refs are used on this site). Therefore, the Ohio to Erie Trail article that you simply copied and pasted verbatim from Wikipedia has been deleted on this site. If you would like to copy that article to your userspace and edit it before putting it in articlespace on this site, go ahead, but I don't see any reason the article, as is, should not have been deleted.
All the best,

- I am a novice on wikipedia and brand new to wikivoyage. It was suggested that my wikipedia page for Camp Chase Trail would be better on the the Wikivoyage, so I set up a basic page. It would be great if I could work with the content and build it up. I will put in basic information for the article. I undertand that a simple copy and paste is against the rules.
- OK. Sorry to inconvenience you. Due to differences between the sites, it will be necessary to edit out the external links section, refs and red links to non-articles (see Wikivoyage:What is an article?) Other editors can help you delete those things. Happy editing! Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:39, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedia
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you removed information from Wikipedia and moved to Wikivoyage article Camp Chase Trail.
Please note:
- Wikipedia and Wikivoyage are separate sites, and content must not be deleted from Wikipedia just because it was copied to Wikivoyage
- Text taken from Wikipedia must be attributed as such on the talk page
Can you please take care of this? --Andrewssi2 (talk) 00:48, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
I received this suggestion over on Wikipedia and thought I was following that suggestion: Wikivoyage Much of the material Jodydz has added to this article over the past year would be better suited for a Wikivoyage itinerary article, particularly the "Route", "Trailside amenities", and "Local attractions" sections. Wikivoyage allows also delving into details such as phone numbers of nearby bike-friendly businesses. With a Wikivoyage article at voy:Camp Chase Trail, this Wikipedia article could be left to describe the trail's history and economic impact (and supply route information in prose form). – Minh Nguyễn 💬 11:36, 27 November 2014 (UTC) Jodydz

- Hi, if you want to delete or edit Wikipedia content in order to improve Wikipedia then that is fine (including deleting content that is not relevant for Wikipedia). I just wanted to be clear that Wikivoyage is separate and information can be duplicated between the two sites.
- Please also read Wikivoyage:Copyleft about attributing any content back to Wikipedia. Andrewssi2 (talk) 01:28, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
Itinerary articles
[edit]Have a look at some of the existing itinerary articles, especially the ones rated "Guide," to see how they're formatted. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:24, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
