Welcome, Donaudamphschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft (good lordy, that's a long username)! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. Taos Pueblo

[edit source]

Hello, and thanks a lot for your work on the Taos Pueblo. However, I'm not sure why the information in that article couldn't be in the Taos guide. Please discuss this at Talk:Taos pueblo.

Best,

Adding text to United States of America

[edit source]

I really appreciate your enthusiasm, but I think you'll find your work reverted, since that article always has a tendency to get longer and longer, and significant additions require consensus on Talk:United States of America. You might do well to start a thread there, explaining why these additions are needed at the country level.

All the best,

Temporary account IP viewer

[edit source]

Hello, Tuyuhun.

A recent change now means that all IP addresses are no longer visible to most ordinary users. However, as per WMF policy, any user who has made at least 300 edits with an account older than 6 months may request the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) permission to view IP addresses of all temporary accounts for up to 90 days. You are receiving this mass message because your account is autopatrolled, or has patroller and/or template editor permissions, and have over 300 edits, and thus are likely eligible to request this permission.

Guidelines surrounding the use of the tool can be found at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer; if granted, you must also accept the WMF policy in your preferences.

TAIV permissions can be requested at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer/Requests, or on any admin's talk page.

Your privacy and use of the Travel Tracker

[edit source]

In April, Wikivoyage introduced the Travel Tracker (also known as "My Travel Map") in the user menu at top right. It has recently come to our attention that the initial version of the tool did not make clear that maps created through it are public and are associated with your account. Users who used the tool and published a map may have their map deleted by emailing a request for oversight. We apologize for this matter.
