Zebilla

Zebilla is the capital of Bawku West District in the Upper East Region of Ghana, on the main Bolgatanga-Bawku road. It is a market and farming town in the White Volta lowlands of the Ghanaian Northern Plains, serving Kusaal communities.

History Zebilla is a Kusasi market town that grew along the Bolga-Bawku highway. The name Zebilla is from Kusaal.

People Mainly Kusasi, some Mossi and Bissa traders. Kusaal and Hausa spoken.

Climate Hot. Dry October-March, rainy May-September. Dusty harmattan Dec-Feb. Best Nov-Jan.

Orientation Linear town on highway. Market central, lorry station on main road.
