Hi! I noticed that the Liaocheng page could use some more detailed travel information. It would be helpful to add sections about transportation, major attractions such as Dongchang Lake and Guangyue Tower, local food, recommended places to stay, and practical tips for visitors. More information about how to get to Liaocheng from nearby cities would also make the page more useful for travellers. I hope the page can be improved and expanded in the future. Hi. I just deleted a bunch of inline Wikipedia links. We don't do those, with few exceptions.

A quick reaction is that the lack of a "Buy" section is glaring. Among other things wouldn't that be the section where the donkey hide gelatin should be mentioned in more detail, with the Chinese name that probably isn't needed in "Understand"? Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:35, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi everyone, thanks for the great work so far. The article has a solid foundation with good climate, history, and food sections. To move it closer to "Usable" status, here are a few key areas to focus on:

Missing "Buy" and "Sleep" sections: As Ikan Kekek mentioned, the lack of a "Buy" section is noticeable. Also, a "Sleep" section is required for travelers to find accommodation. Please add at least three listings for each using the standard templates.                  Connect section: The "Connect" section is currently empty. Adding practical info like SIM cards, Wi-Fi, and emergency numbers would be very helpful.

I see some issues to address:

• In the first paragraph, can you say something interesting about the city that would make a traveller want to visit? (If you're stuck, trying copying the most interesting sentence from Understand into the first paragraph, and go from there.)
• I agree with the above comment, this should have a Buy and a Sleep section. A Connect section is not strictly necessary, if there isn't anything to say that isn't true for all of China.
• There's something wrong with the dynamic map; it should be showing markers for each of the listings. Delete the existing mapframe code and readd a Template:Mapframe in Get Around.
• The static "Liaocheng-map" image needs to be translated to English or removed.
• We generally don't make direct links to Wikipedia, so remove them, and replace them with links to other Wikivoyage articles where appropriate. Understand, See and Do should include enough description to make a reader interested without needing to read the Wikipedia article.
• The images need better captions.
• Are the Eat and Drink listings for descriptions of famous foods, or for the place to get those foods? Either is valid, but it needs to be more clear whether I'm reading about a business or a common dish.

Also, quotes are used strangely, sometimes seemingly for emphasis. I deleted quotes around the word "water." Don't use quotes unless you're clearly quoting something or someone. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:17, 27 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the map from the lede section as it did make the page look cluttered. I also reviewed the article and removed the unnecessary quotation marks that were used for emphasis.

I have now completed the rest of the requested changes:Added the "Buy" and "Sleep" sections.Removed all direct links to Wikipedia (and other invalid links).Removed the static Chinese map.Improved the image captions.Clarified the "Eat" and "Drink" sections to indicate they are local food descriptions, not specific business listings.
