Uzbekistan railways update
[edit source]Hello Ground Zero. I saw you edited my changes for Khiva. Nice and practical edits, thanks. I guess you have more knowledge and rights here, so I thought I'll ask you the following. Could you update railway lines on the static map in Uzbekistan page? I was there Sep-Oct 2025 and went by train from Khiva to Bukhara, on a line not marked in the map. - Hello @Aurimaz: unfortunately, that is beyond my skill set. I just don't know how to make static maps. I suggest that you ask for help on the talk page at Wikivoyage:Mapmaking_Expedition. I don't know if we have many current contributors who are able to update maps, so it may take a while to get this updated. Thanks for your contributions to Wikivoyage. Fix redirection of Aliabad
[edit source]Hello Ground Zero. As we talked previously, I thought I'll ask you also help with the following. There is a town Aliabad, in Hunza Valley (Gilgit-Baltistan, de facto Pakistan). There seems to be nothing interesting for a tourist there, except for it is popular stop to change buses, minivans, etc. - then tourists go further. Therefore, it doesn't seem to make sense to have a dedicated page for it. The issue now is, Aliabad currently redirects to Gilgit-Baltistan. More proper and useful redirection would be to Hunza Valley (it's a smaller territorial unit, and Aliabad is relevant rather in this context). I.e. on page https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Karakoram_Highway link for Aliabad goes to Hunza Valley, but it's link target, not redirection, that works here. Could you fix the redirection? I don't know how to do this myself, and I don't know if I'm allowed. There are more Aliabads than this, you can see in Wikipedia, but if first comes wins, then there's just one Aliabad in Gilgit-Baltistan, and it falls in Hunza Valley. Please withdraw ypur claim about me "making excuses to include as LITTLE information as possible in articles". Making demostrably false ad hominem attacks is disruptive and does not build community. You may be an eligible candidate for the U4C election

The Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) seeks candidates for the 2026 election. The U4C is the global committee responsible for overseeing enforcement of the Universal Code of Conduct. Elections are held annually, if elected a committee member serves for two years.
This year the U4C requires candidates to hold administrator rights on at least one wiki, which is why you are being contacted as you appear to hold this right. There are other requirements, such as candidates must be at least 18 years old and may not be employed by the Wikimedia Foundation or other related chapters and affiliates. You can find more information in the call for candidates on Meta-wiki. Additionally, the committee's working language is English; some ability to communicate in English is required.
The election opens on 18 May, if you are eligible and interested you have until 10 May to submit your candidacy. There will week between for candidates to answer questions from the community. Voting takes place privately in SecurePoll, successful candidates must receive at least 60% support. More information is available on the 2026 Elections page, including timelines and other candidacy information. If you read over the material and consider yourself qualified, please consider submitting your name to run for the committee. If you think someone else in your community might be interested and qualified, please encourage them to run.

Exchange rates
[edit source]Something I've made to speed up the process of updating currency exchange rates is this tool. To install it, add
// currency updater mw.loader.load('//en.wikivoyage.org/w/index.php?title=User:SHB2000/currency updater.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript'); to User:Ground Zero/common.js.
The main purpose of it is to provide a bit of a listing editor-like interface when updating currencies, but I've also added a few extra features to it, such as a direct link to xe.com (see [5]), so a lot less typing required. If you do end up installing it, do let me know if there are any more improvements I can make to speed up this process.

- @ShadowCrash10: there are a lot of formatting conventions in Wikivoyage. Consistent formatting makes it easier for readers to find information. But it takes a while for new editors to learn all of this stuff, so don't sweat it. Check other editors' coreections to your edits is a good way of learning.
