Welcome! And a comment about listings

[edit source]

Hello, PaulGamerBoy360! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

Thanks for all the excellent edits you've been making! One comment about listing templates, though: It's great that you added some in this edit, but when you do, please don't delete unused fields. Our practice is not to delete any unused fields, but that's more important in the case of hotels with no phone number, url, email address, hours or prices. Someone might add them if the fields are restored.

Thanks again and all the best,

Formatting

[edit source]

Thanks for your updates to Middleton (Utah). I have been correcting the formatting of your edits to make it easier for readers to find information. Here are a few tips for better edits:

  1. U.S. phone numbers should be written as +1 435-288-2051. This allows the reader to dial the number directly from the article if they are reading the article on a cellphone -- see wv:phone.
  2. For days of the week, we abbreviate to the minimum number of letters – M Tu W Th F Sa Su -- see wv:days.
  3. We don't use "12PM" and "12AM" because they are ambiguous: some people use them to mean "noon" and "midnight", while other people use them to mean "midnight " and "noon". This is set out in our style guide, WV:time.
  4. In addresses, we do not include the city (if it is the same as the page title), the state or zip code. See Wikivoyage:Listings.

I hope that helps. Keep up the great work. Ground Zero (talk) 12:47, 4 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
