Banners for our February and March features! --Ypsilon (talk) 17:16, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All the banners on this page look good, but are there any alternatives to consider? Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:20, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Banners for the upcoming articles! --Ypsilon (talk) 17:20, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@SelfieCity, Ypsilon: Here are two more alternative banners. --shb (t | c | m) 05:02, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I think the first alternative banner is my favorite. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 19:09, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ypsilon: Uploaded another banner. //shb (t | c | m) 04:15, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with both. --Ypsilon (talk) 04:22, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The second one seems to more specifically picture this park. The first one could be from many other places. –LPfi (talk) 10:10, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Three banners to choose from for Expo 2025: Banner 1 shows Kansai Signature Pavilion "null²", Banner 2 shows the Grand Ring from the air (the article banner has some similarities, but I think it is sufficiently different), Banner 3 shows The official mascot Myaku Myaku standing in front of the Grand Ring.
I haven't been to the Expo and there are plenty more photos on Commons that are suitable, so further contributions are very welcome. I had to trim the blurb as the original one was too long, but please refine this.
Which banner do you prefer AlasdairW (talk) 21:45, 16 July 2025 (UTC)?[reply]

And more banners for the upcoming months. --Ypsilon (talk) 13:50, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a set banners for September's and October's articles. --Ypsilon (talk) 18:45, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Banners for November and December, i.e. the rest of 2025. As always, feel free to create more if you like. --Ypsilon (talk) 18:07, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Banner for El Cuyo. Ypsilon (talk) 17:23, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is better not to use the same photo as the article banner, but here is one of the two other possibilities that were considered for the article banner. This shows a man drinking camel milk and I like how the camel in the background sets the scene. AlasdairW (talk) 22:59, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm OK with that. But why is it better not to use the same photo as the article banner? Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:52, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer this alternative; it's a more interesting photo and better representation of the topic. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 03:33, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I like the alternative too. The first looks too much like a water glass in a first-world restaurant while the alternative looks like a place where dehydration would be a serious issue. Mrkstvns (talk) 14:03, 21 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think both are fairly good to me and I don't mind either being used. //shb (t | c | m) 07:03, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A 3:1 crop of the article banner would show more text, which I think would make the picture less good. The water sachets in the article banner are intended for a ship's lifeboat and were made in 2006. Displaying a 2006 manufacture date on the main page in 2026 is not great. AlasdairW (talk) 20:57, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the manufacture date matters. In an emergency, you'll drink water, regardless of when it was put into bags. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:07, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
