Peer Review for Huangshi Article (Activity 14.1)
[edit source]Hello,
I am reviewing your work on the Huangshi article as part of our class's peer review activity. The article is incredibly detailed and well-researched. The information on healthcare and accommodation is very thorough and helpful for travelers.
Here are a few constructive suggestions to make it even better according to Wikivoyage guidelines:
1. "Do" Section Formatting: The "Do" section currently starts with four paragraphs of plain text (Visit Yellowstone... Dongshan Hot Springs... etc.). On Wikivoyage, activities should be formatted as standard listings (using the "do" template) so they appear on the map and look consistent with the rest of the article.
2. Empty Sections: The "Buy" section is currently empty. According to the final checklist, every main section should have at least one listing. You could add a local shopping mall (like Wanda Plaza) or a market.
3. Duplicate Text: In the Dongfang Mountain Scenic Area listing (under "See"), the price information (Free entry; shuttle bus ¥30...) is accidentally repeated twice at the end of the description. It just needs a quick cleanup.
4. Minor Formatting in Sleep: In the Sleep section, some phone numbers have the text "Phone with wrong format" attached to them. Make sure to fix the formatting so they display correctly.
Overall, this is a highly detailed and excellent article! Great job.

Final Review Request - Huangshi article
[edit source]Hello Wikivoyage editors,
I have recently completed a major expansion of the Huangshi article for a university project. I have added and formatted sections for See, Do, Eat, Drink, Sleep, and Buy, and made sure the transportation sections (Get in and Get around) are detailed and use standard listings.
Could you please review this article and provide some feedback? I want to make sure it meets the Wikivoyage style guidelines and quality standards before final grading.
Thank you!

- Look at my last few edits and edit summaries. The last one should have wv:listings#Template parameters as the link, though. Look at that and my remark about useful vs. useless directions and what should be in the "directions" tab - which is definitely not "look at a map"! Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:33, 28 October 2026 (UTC)
- Also, put the map in "Get around"; it looks weird in the lede section. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:34, 28 October 2026 (UTC)
- Look at my last edit and edit summary. You don't need to specially request a review in this case if you just pay attention to the feedback you're already getting, stop including default address info and stop giving useless directions like "consult a map" and "check open hours locally".

- I now believe useless remarks like that are a sign of using raw AI text in listings. If any AI text was used, it must be confirmed with reliable non-AI sources and edited into your own words. Otherwise, we should just delete all the apparently tainted listings... Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:50, 28 October 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Ikan Kekek,
- Thank you for your strict but very helpful feedback. I understand now that empty filler phrases like "consult a map" or "check locally" are signs of AI-generated text and do not belong in a travel guide.
- I have just made the following fixes:
- 1. Moved the map from the lead section to the "Get around" section.
- 2. Deleted all the useless direction phrases (like "follow signs" and "check departure times").
- 3. Removed the "Source: XXX" text from my listings.
- 4. Cleaned up all the duplicated prices and formatting errors in the Sleep section.
- I have written everything in my own words based on real facts. Thank you for helping me improve this article and teaching me the Wikivoyage style!

- Ok, here's another task for you: "directions" appear as a parenthetical phrase, so you or your classmate need to turn them all into phrases, not sentences with initial capital letters and periods at the end. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:24, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Ikan Kekek,
- Thank you for pointing that out! I have now reviewed all the "directions" fields in my listings. I have changed them all from full sentences (with initial capital letters and periods) into short, parenthetical phrases.
- For example, "(Take Bus 8 to the station.)" is now "(bus 8 to the station)". I have removed all the trailing periods inside the parentheses.
- I appreciate your meticulous review. Please let me know if there are any other formatting issues!

Suggestion
[edit source]I think your article is very good and has a lot of useful information. The sections are clear and easy to understand. I have just a few small suggestions. You could add some more pictures of Huangshi and give more details about local food and famous places. Also, please check that all the information is correct.
