In listings please use content= not description= to give a description of the place.

Page banner images need to be cropped (you can use the Crop Tool on Commons) to have a 7:1 aspect ratio and be a minimum of 1800 pixels wide.

Before creating a page for a new city, it is a good idea to start a discussion on the talk page of the region (in the Nigeria this is usually the State) and wait a couple of days for comments as to whether the place merits its own page - we don't usually create pages for city beaches.

The page banners you have added to several articles do not meet Wikivoyage requirements and must be cut down to the correct size. Please crop the banners you added . You can do so online using CropTool without editing them in an external picture editor.

1. Open existing source the file in Commons
2. Select CropTool from the Tools panel on the left
3. (The first time, you have to authorize the tool)
4. Select Aspect ratio: 7:1, press Preview
5. Check the preview, select Upload as new file and type the new file name according to the above instructions
6. Press Upload
7. After successful upload, check the new file and add it to the appropriate category "Category:Wikivoyage banners of "

When the Abakaliki article starts to become overwhelmingly long with travel-related content (not encyclopedic stuff from Wikipedia), you can then propose a districting scheme for the entire city at Talk:Abakaliki. Until then, please don't unilaterally create any district articles on this site. Thanks very much. Thank you for your on-going contributions to Wikivoyage. I know that there are a lot of rules for new editors to learn in Wikivoyage, so I have been correcting some of your edits, but I have to ask you to stop making these errors.

In a sentence, or in a section header in Wikivoyage:

1. capitalize the first word, and
2. any proper names (the names of people, places, businesses, institutions....)

Have you read Wikivoyage:Capitalization? You can start there, and then also remember to use capital letters at the beginnings of sentences but not for words that are not proper names in the middles of sentences. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:07, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Are you using any tools (maybe including AI) to assist you in editing? Some of the errors you are making (including using "description=" instead of "content=") are not those that a new user normally makes, and it would be useful to understand why. AlasdairW (talk) 22:35, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I sincerely apologize for the edit. It was not intentional, I am still learning how Wikivoyage works, and I misunderstood how to correctly link or name routes. I did not realize that adding the Pacific Coast Highway in that context was incorrect.

I assure you that there was no intention to vandalize the page. I am committed to learning and following the proper guidelines, and I will be more careful with my edits going forward.

Good morning, The reply wasn't from Ai. I made that edit based on I was trying to learn how to link, so I was comparing and copying from another already made work, I never knew when I copied that particular link. So sorry for that expensive mistake. I don't rely on AI, I usually get information from Google, Wikipedia, and I just started watching YouTube videos to get more knowledge on how to edit, have pulse my editing for now, I just want to get more knowledge and clarity before I can start editing, pls you know I’m still learning how to edit properly and I will be more careful and verify information before making future edits. I'm seeing that you're adding mapframes and images to a lot of articles. This is often good to do, but you're missing some details:

• Maps need either listing markers or shapes to be useful. Some of the maps you're adding have nothing, zooming out to the entire world, and others have incorrect or useless mapshape shadings. Verify that the maps you're adding are actually usable.
• Your_image_captions_have_underscores, they need to be normal prose. They should also not repeat redundant information like state/province/country names.

I don't know what to do about this contributor. Many of their edits are good, and then there are others that are just so very wrong. I don't know how they are making these mistakes. And then there are the errors that they are repeating after being asked not to make them. They don't seem to be willing to work with our community. I have reverted your recent edits to Marshfield (Missouri), because they seem to be about Marshfield (Wisconsin). The world is full of cities that have the same name as another city elsewhere. Please treble check that you are editing the article about the correct city. You should have been surprised (and stopped and investigated) when you saw that the listings that you were adding all had a different phone area code from the existing listings in the article.
